It is easily confirmed that the coverage of the 0.58 viewfinder is very close to the 24mm lens if you ignore the 28mm framelines. When buying the 0.58, this was precisely my intention. But I wear glasses, and this means that I have to look around to make sure what is and what is not included in the shot. It is faster for me to just look through the 24mm finder. So the answer to your question is that if you wear glasses, it will be very unlikely that you can dispense with the external finder. If you don't, then you should go to the shop and test it for yourself. BTW, the 0.58 makes a lot of sense anyway. It is a joy to use with my 35mm and 50mm lenses.
