The Jupiters are Carl Zeiss Jena formulae produced in Russia on Carl Zeiss
Jena machinery by Carl Zeiss Jena trained craftsmen and to Carl Zeiss Jena
standards.  However, the customary warnings about Soviet/Post-Soviet QA/QC
apply!

Yes, they are cheaper, dramatically cheaper.
