LUGs

At the time a couple of weeks ago when Doug Herr and others
were speaking of the hawk migration flights, I found myself
occupied with a bird at the other end of the ornithological size
spectrum - the ruby throated hummingbird.

One morning I planned to finish a roll of chrome by experimenting
with 280/2.8 and an extension tube to photograph migrating
Monarch butterflies as they nectared on one of my butterfly
bushes. Then I noticed the hummer perched inside the bush. It
was within the focusing range of the lens setup and remained in
position for five frames. The most useable is at:

Although I have seen the species in the area, this was the first
sighting in the yard.
