Although it's been more years than I care to count that I've used 
my CEYOO, I found that mine would work with a Kodak D cell 
battery (I don't know whether there is another designation for this 
size in Europe).  Interestingly only the Kodak brand would work.

I last used the flash to take some photos at a local Fifties dance 
where, in keeping with the theme, I used an M3 (albeit a late one, 
but the model was introduced in 1954) along with the CEYOO 
flash.  I had forgotten just how hot those flashbulbs could be.
