The Gallery will be showing in the main gallery, the work of the late Erich Hartmann, a Magnum photographer and my small show will be in the Oskar Barnack Room. The opening will be from 5 PM to 8 PM. The meeting will start at 8:30 PM in the 3rd floor photography studio at the Parson School of Design on Fifth Ave. The meeting will be over at 10:30 PM. John Lee, organizer of this meeting asked everybody to go to the Leica Gallery first, and he will have directions for everyone. It is a ten or fifteen minute walk from the Leica Gallery. The Leica Gallery is located at 670 Broadway on the fifth floor. If you have never been to the Gallery it is a wonderful place with an excellent collection of Leica books for sale, including Erwin Puts "Leica Lens Compendium." If you come early, Tamarkin New York in next door to the Gallery and they have a great collection of new and used Leica goodies but they close at 5 PM. Plus, a visit to the Gallery for this opening will give you a chance to rub elbows with many of the Magnum shooters. Leica USA graciously supplied the room for the meeting. There will be short presentations by the noted Leica Historian Jim Lager and myself, in addition to some discussion on topics for the next NY LUG Meeting during Photo East at the Javitz Center in October or November.
