I still own one in silver and have owned one in black. These variation appears to provide no added value to an M6, however, it does generally assure that the body is not from the batch with the loony electronic circuit. The Curmudgeon now retires yet again to enjoy communications with his good friend Mike Johnston. It has the red leica logo of course but next to that just says M6 in large letters. A guy in Santa Fe today still recognized it and made a nice comment though.
