A Vivitar 283 (or 285) will get you 7 feet away at f16 with ISO 100 film at full power.
So further away it's acting more like Phil.  :)
With an ISO of 200 your purple mode is at f16
so you're ok on auto within a ten feet
with an ASA 400 film your purple mode is F22! and faster recyling blue mode (my
fave) is at f16 which gets you 15 feet out!

My Norman 200C with spun glass diffuser is only a stop more powerful than the
Vivitar 283!
