Here's why the use of the neutral density filter don't help get around the
slower flash sync of the M when shooting in high ambient light situations.

You are shooting say 5 feet away at f11 but you now want to move 8 feet away.
F8 would be indicated but you notice both your led's come on because that's the
reading without the flash at 1/50 anyway. Your flash is not powerful enough for
the ambient light at hand.
Is a neutral density filter over your lens going to help that? No. Why?
a one stop neutral density filter has you at F5.6 with both led's on at 8 feet.
Same prediciment. Less depth of field. And your flash has to use more power if
it's got it and recycle less quick.

A neural density filter is not an Omega 13 for the slow flash synch!
But there is one.
A more powerful flash.

It's like flying to the sun. Best to go at night.
