Is the F1.4 worth the extra money? thank >you. ><<< --> There is an extremely positive review of the Summicron-R f/2 35mm "somewhere" on the Internet. It would seem the optics engineer behind it is highly respected. IF you very often use close range photography, the Summilux-R f/1.4 35mm has FLE technology: this could mean it's remarkable to that end. Though many prefer the 35mm focal length, perhaps would it be wise to also consider the LEICA-R 28mm? I can fully appreciate the "classic" 35mm, but the 28mm definitely brings serious credentials and applications, especially if you tend to get to photograph in more cramped spaces. A LEICA R 6.2 + 35mm Summicron-R f/2, with the larger rubber eye cup + black body, certainly would trigger serious product envy. Your system could grow to include a 19mm ultra-wide and/or a 60mm Macro-Elmarit for outstanding system versatility. Add a few high quality filters and polarizers. Probably a Metz flash, one capable of TTL bounce flash. To me, I also would want the bottom half of the LEICA leather everready case, ... it's just an old habit of mine. The grip is firmer, giving me a securizing sense of control. I prefer smaller stuff, so as to least evoke the "here comes a photographer" response [ ! ] Black body mandatory, of course. Your 35mm selection most certainly represents a classic, well-founded practical choice. Andre Jean Quintal
