I have owned a recent 90/2.0 apo/asph M lens.  It was a terrific picture
taker, however, the aperture ring was loose like yours.  I never paid any
attention to it - just shot with it.  Only problem I could see is that the
ring might move easily off the setting.  1/28 of a stop if meaningless (or
what ever you figured it was)
