Herb,

There are a number of outstanding stores that it appears you are not aware
of. One is not to far from you, Del's Camera in Santa Barbara (
http://www.dels-cam.com/ ), then there is one here in the mid west, Mid West
Photo Exchange ( http://www.mpex.com/ ). Both Del's and Mid West focus on
used. I don't think Del's has much Leica any more and Mid West inventory,
based on their web site, is really thin, too. But both companies are in the
exact same league as KEH.

Then there is my favorite store for new stuff, Calument. They have a store
somewhere on the west cost, but the main store is in Chicago. Ther're web
site is http://www.calumetphoto.com/ . As for as day in, day out supplies,
Calument cannot be beaten. One time I places an order about 2pm. I called
back at 3pm and said that I had forgotten to order a chemical and could I
tack it onto my order. The sales person told me my earlier order was
already boxed and on the truck but that he would get the new item on the
truck, too, NO EXTRA SHIPPING CHARGES! This is also a company that you can
call up and talk to like you do when you walk into a camera store. Their
sales people, like KEH, DEL's and Mid West, all know what they are talking
about.

Sam

P.S. I think Calumet also has a store in the UK, they have UK prices on
their web site.

Thanks to all who sent info. By now, I know what unit and SCA I
need. I received email saying that B&H has it, but I prefer to buy
from the local Bear Images when I can--they have been so damn nice
over the years. I probably will have to wait for the SCA because
the
importer, Bogen, is temporarily out of them. But, I'm not in a
hurry--flash is a very low priority for me.

I knew that AAA camera was sleazy. I just took a chance since one
does have protection when using a credit card. The only mail order
houses I'm sure of, especially for used stuff are B & H and KEH. I
have heard one or two good things said about Adorama, but have never

	used them. Any info?

I bought my M6 TTL used from B & H and the Canadian 35 mm Summicron
from KEH.

Incidentally, going from the sublime to the ridiculous, I have to
admit to having bought and Olympus Stylus Epic yesterday. The price

was right $70, and I wanted something cheap and small enough to
carry
in a pants pocket without having to worry about keys or coins
	damaging it.

Hoping to meet some of you Fri and Sat at Keep-it and Shove-it in
Palo Alto.
