several years ago i actually managed to drive my 1992 corvette over a soft
bag which contained my contax T2.  only the left rear wheel passed over the
bag, with about 49% of about 3300lbs over the 2 rear wheels, i figure the
total load on the one wheel was maybe 808 lbs. 

miraculously, the camera was not damaged, which was more than this
complete bonehead deserved. :-)
