They let you borrow equipment, load it with film, and take it out on the
streets of Wetzlar for hours [*].

[*] Of course if you're a wicked person you also take photographs of Wetzlar
town with a Rolleiflex, snap other course members over dinner with an F3 &
85 f1.4, and shoot inside the Leica Solms facility with a Fuji MF
rangefinder & Metz 45.
