The answer, Robert would be the new 28 which seems much more compact than the 24 but with a different lens shade on it as although it's a compact lens it's lens shade is elongated like the one on the 35. 1.4 Asph. I have the opposite opinion on this stuff. If i have a filter on the Len, and that would be a yellow green, not a UV I then even MORE I want a lens shade on the camera. If i have a lot of exposed glass to the elements i want it curved!! Like Ted and his Noctilux... The exception is on my 24 using a polarizing filter. Had to leave the shade at home on that deal. I do LOVE the shade on the 24. IT's so cinematographic! It REALLY looks like it's doing something even though when a lens has an angle THAT wide how much of a lens shade can you have and how much is it going to-do? These newer longer ones on the new 28 and on the 35 Summilux Asph are really something else though. Leica seems determined to shade light on their wide angles no other company has gone this far with these things. They should cough up a plan B shade for the less wide angle shade inclined. From what i saw of the new .58 camera it really is the answer for wide angle photography. I can see the framelines of my 35 with my glasses on. It seems perfect. I'm sold! It's just when?
