Well, perhaps a few tentative steps... The original post was about images, and how we adjust our technique to realize them with different types of equipment. Predictable results are exactly what most craftsmen strive to achieve. They allow you to put what you intend on the film. My counter heretical suggestion is that those who refuse to learn the strengths and limitations of their tools often produce "original" images that are less the creation of the artist than of luck.
