You could try finding a brass countersunk machine screw that fits the
hole cut the head off and neatly file away till it fits flush on both
sides then solder it in with a regular soldering iron (if you have
one) to avoid buying a new baseplate.  Maybe thats too much trouble
but it would make a neat repair.
