I have no idea whether the water in the different places I have lived since taking up photography (Florida, New Jersey, Belgium, Switzerland) is good or bad, but distilled water is cheap and this way I eliminate one potential source of problems. Again, I have never had any problems with XTOL (or any other developer for that matter).
