I know how he shoots (portable multiple flash in these cases) and how he develops (D-76) so I asked him what film he had used. It was Agfapan 400 and I can only repeat what Guy said above about it: very fine grained film that produces wonderful results. This is not what I experienced when I tried out Agfa's films half a dozen years ago. Either my testing was sloppy, or Agfa have improved their films. Probably both assumptions are true. I have read somewhere that Agfa are now using some sort of modifed T-grain. Perhaps they have found a good balance between traditional and modern grain. Still, I have got so used to HP5 that I am reluctant to try anything else. A real dilemma. - -- Christer Almqvist D-20255 Hamburg, Germany and/or F-50590 Regnéville-sur-Mer, France
