Michiel,

The Vario Elmar 35-70/4.0 ROM (11277) is a better performer IMHO and is
priced the same as the current 28-70/3.5-4.5 (11364).

Please note that there are two versions of the Vario Elmar 28-70/3.5-4.5:
the earlier one (11265) was designed and made by Sigma and the current one
(11364) has the same optics but (better) manufactured by Kyocera. The newer
lens share the same mount as the current Vario Elmar 35-70/4.0. IMHO the
newer mount seems more durable and is smoother in operation.

$600 is a very good price for a new 28-70/3.5-4.5 but please check which
version you are offered. For a little more you can have a new VE 35-70/4.0
which I believe is a better lens optically.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Joseph
