Subject: [Leica] TTL Battery Q

I've a .56 M6 on it's third set of batteries in 4 months. I've had it
checked by Leica UK (done in 4 hours unlike the 4 months and counting Leica
germany are taking to do the rf on my M4) and there is no problem. Now I use
a softie and whilst I always fire the shutter before putting it in my bag, I
don't turn it 'off'. This didn't matter on my 'classic'. Leica UK didn't
know if the circuit is still active if the shutter dial is not set to off.
Apparently on the TTL if a flash is attached, the camera circuit is live
until the shutter dial is set to off regardless of whether the shutter is
cocked or not. Does anyone know if the camera is live until switched off?
