It's a small button that just screws into the shutter releases cable release threads - it gives you a larger area to gently roll your finger on to release the shutter thereby giving the impression of a "softer" release. You certainly can't go wrong for $10 - even if you don't love it. Just received the first one on Monday - I just ordered 2 more today.
