I sent this message to Julian Thomas, however I'd like to pose the question
to the group.

I'm just trying to get some opinions. I notice that there are many
comments on this group regarding the use of Tri-X. I wonder why so many
people tend to use this in place of T-Max. I used Tri X for many years,
however I much prefer the newer T Max. I use it at the rated speed of 400,
and with roll film I develop in T Max developer. For sheet film (4 X 5) I
use Xtol because here in Mexico I can't get the T Max RS. I've used the
regular T Max developer for 4 X 5, however I prefer Xtol because of the
danger of fogging with regular T Max for sheet film.

 I will appreciate any comments.
