Seven aspherically ground elements above the negative and one below! This was done in 1974 at extra ordinary cost to the US taxpayer. According to specification, the resolving power for that enlarger with its 75mm Elcan lens is in excess of 275 lines per millimetre! This is obviously a great idea, but considering that photographic paper resolves about 20 lpm, a serious case of "overkill"! Tom A
