 It should be possible to make the 75 frames as a solid line in the M3 
viewfinder. I have been toying with the idea of having the mask done 
(acid-milled stainless steel shimstock) and dropped into the viewfinder 
assembly. It is a complex procedure and would probably require the services 
of an experienced Leica Technician ( DAG, Sherry or Reinhold). The making of 
the actual mask is not that difficult, cost would be around $1000 for a whole 
bunch of them (probably come out to $3-4/piece). Set-up cost is $300 or so 
and then it depends on how many can be done in one sheet of material. Of 
course, the absolute dream would be to have the 50 frame in the M3 replaced 
with an equal sized 75 frame, solid line and all, and magnified to give 0.91 
magnification with the 75/1,4! Glue the 75 to the M3 and calibrate the 
rangefinder to make full use of the wide-open capability of the 75/1,4. Now 
there is a camera/lens combo!
