Thank you everyone for your great feedback.  As always it is going to be down
to what is right for a particular user.

Personally I tend to verge on the wide angle side having (Nikkor) 28mm and
35mmm PC lenses together with a less used 50mm for architectuaral work.  The
28mm I use the most; though it may be great for architecture it is not as
versatile for people like a 35mm hence the choice for a 35mm as a the primary
lens.  As per Frank Filippone's suggestion wider may be an option as the next
wide angle like the well priced Voigtlander 15mm Heliar - great for those wide
vista shots and it won't break the bank!

The question in this case would then be which view finder is the 35mm frame
better placed?  Again all very personal, and let us not forget the glasses
factor 8-)
