Subject: RE: [Leica] Backup Camera

It may be semantics, but I do not have any backup
camera in the strict sense of the word (e.g. the way
it is used in the computer world). By that definition,
a backup camera would be one that I ONLY used when
something went wrong with my normal camera. I do not
have such a camera. But when I go out with my Leicas,
I always have more than one M6 with me, because I want
to be able to shoot both slide and B&W during the same
outing. If I am driving, I frequently also have the
R8/SL outfit in the car, and if I anticipate low-light
situations, then the M3 also comes along (it is
dedicated to high-speed film).

Now, there are occasions when even a single M6 is too
much camera to take along (f.ex. when riding to the
office on my motorcycle or doing a quick business
trip, in and out the same day with little or no spare
time anticipated). For those occasions there is always
a Ricoh GR1 in my pocket.

Nathan
