Mr. Sachs says it is designed specifically to meet the imaging needs of photographers (also astro-photographers). I have it and like it, but I am such an amateurish amateur that I cannot comment on its more advanced features, nor can I compare it in utility with Photoshop. I will go so far as to suggest that if the group is unfamiliar with the program, I believe it is worth a trial. Their new version 3.0 is available in trial form from their website. I have zero connection with this program other than as a very elementary user, who would like to hear what "real" photographers think of it in comparison with other programs. Regards, best wishes for the Season, and thanks to the LUG for many hours of happy reading and instruction. Julian, who is comfortable with the R8 despite short stubby fingers. You don't need big hands to love this camera. - ----- Original Message ----- From: MEBerube <MEB@goodphotos.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Saturday, December 16, 2000 10:30 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] Photo shop ? Does anyone else use Paint Shop Pro by JASC? I tried Photoshop 6.0 (borrowed from a friend to see if I actually wanted to buy it) and ended up unloading it to continuing using Paint Shop Pro 7. I'm only just beginning to explore the digital imaging world, but I find the JASC product to be far more intuitive to me. It seems to do just about anything that the Adobe product will do. It takes most of the same plug ins and is FAR less expensive. Is there no one else sitting in my tree or am I high alone? (with my apologies to John Lennon, RIP.) Carpe Luminem, Michael E.
