In what I presume were relatively spontaneous and fast-moving family snaps, were you able to get by with avialable light? And if so, what lens/film combinations do you like for that kind of shooting. May you continue to enjoy yourself and the love of your family in the year to come.................Julian - ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard W. The first was on Saturday (23rd) where I took my M6 etc and started snapping away. When I first took out the camera I got the "Here he goes again" comments etc. I decided that after 53 years of family 'happy snaps' (I have 8,000 to 10,000 slides after giving a bunch to the kids. I switched to color print film last year as no one else has a slide projector 'that they can find' - I gave each kid one some years ago) to give it up and not take my camera to my daughter's house on Sunday (the 24th). First thing that happened when I sat down was my daughter asking "Dad, where is your camera?" I told her that I had retired from that. She said "But, Dad I was counting on you taking pictures!!" Well, what do you know about that. On Christmas day when we had dinner at her house with a bunch of friends, I showed up with the camera and shot up the place. I told my kids that they had asked for it and they were now in for it!!! As we left the candlelight service on Christmas eve at out church I was telling my wife that I wished I had talked to the pastor about taking a few pictures of the candlelight part of it. I was seated on the isle and could have gotten the altar, the pastor and the left part of the congregation with the 24. As I was bemoaning this, one of the church officials was asking me if I could take a picture of the altar and the pastor etc. My, my. I will try this week, however, we are having a mixed, rain, sleet and snow storm coming in and will last until the end of the week. BTW I was keeping the SF-20 in my sport coat pocket and pulling it out when I wanted to use it. After a while I noticed that the switch had moved from TTL to A - ouch!! Don't know yet how many of the pictures were affected, mostly I shot available light. I am going to put a piece of scotch tape over the switch to keep in on TTL I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday - and New Years still to come. Dick Hemingway Plano, TX
