AF notwithstanding, the 6-megapixel Contax is a very appealing proposition
not only for its pixel count but (perhaps more importantly) for its 24mm x
36mm CCD size as well. Focal lengths remain as marked. However, a Contax
marketing rep at the recent New York Photo Plus told me that the anticipated
price point for the body was a very Leica-like $7,500. A rebadged Contax N1
digital with Leica lens mount would certainly be on my list for Santa.

I own a very comprehensive Leica R system and there is nothing I'd like more
than to hear a firm committent to the "R" system from Leica; one that
includes a digital body.

While waiting for the digital body, at least a AA battery holder for the R8
motor would be nice!
