Having been born, raised in and experienced Manitoba winters for over 20 years (until I had the sense to move "east" in the early 80's), and the with the occasional Christmas visit home to refresh my memory, I can say that Portage and Main in January is not where you want to be. Even the die-hard Manitobans use the heated underpass. And for those of you to who dare to brave a Manitoba winter - those electrical outlets you see in the parking lots, they're for engine oil heaters. We don't drive electric cars. Regards William
