I suggest you do a little research before walking through the cow pasture
next time. You found where the cows were sleeping and are up to your neck
in Ted's favorite lens cleaner.

What, in his underpants? Since I just got a pair of these in the post today
along with certificate of authenticity, I can testify that you'd have to be
18" tall to be up to your neck in them.

This whole thread is ridiculous. Leica is no doubt ISO 9002 compliant,
which means that its production processes are certified to be quality
controlled in a certain way. Whether in Portugal or anywhere else.

As for buying into the ethos of invading Poland, good luck to you, Alan
Hull. The initial success of the German Army in WW2 had far more to do with
politics and strategy than military technology. Fancy tanks are cool
(although the famous tigers didn't come out until much later) but having
stockpiled vast quantities of mediocre armaments, indoctrinated an entire
generation and plotted for years to attack (foolishly) unprepared
neighbouring countries is far more likely to lead to success than having
the latest toys. At least, that's how _I_ play Risk.

The fact is, the LUG is just about the most irrational forum I've ever come
across, excepting Gulf War apologists. What do we have here:
> Germany is good, Portugal stinks (of donkeys).
> If a summitar f16.5 was good enough for Leonardo da Vinci, then it's good
enough for anyone and wanting to have a modern lens is the mark of a dweeb.
> Filters are evil and the mark of a dweeb.
> You can handhold a 1/4 of a second with ease so long as you stop your
heart beating first.
> The Leica strap is crap.
> Flash just flashes too damn much. Use 64000 ASA film and handhold at 1/4
of a second unless you're a dweeb.
> Colour shows the clothes, Black and White shows the - undershorts. (Sorry
Ted!)
> A Leica is unobtrusive. I know this because I can sneak shots of people's
feet from behind a tree without focussing and they never notice.

Well, that was enjoyable. Night all.

Rob.
