I like the small Bogen/Manfrotto #342 ball head on an old tripod (gitzo 
like that I got at a yard sale for $10) for use with my 35mm cameras. I 
prefer fast film and a bit of graininess to using a tripod. If I am going 
to use a tripod from the start I prefer to shoot medium format.
