Sure is enough, Bob on this Leica dedicated list.

What we do not need is someone or group deciding what work
properly has the issue of individual rights attached. Individual
rights are not (or shouldn't be) an issue. They should be a given.

Yessir, socialism über alles! Good grief, Oddman is again in our
midst.

Leica...please! I will never knowingly initiate political threads,
but when they arrive in my dedicated Leica box, and they are as
controversial as this stuff, I can not help but comment if I
expect to sleep at night.

Wow Roger, certainly got your knickers twisted over that! I was simply
responding to Guy's direct question on list. It had a photographic
reference in that it came out of the Gates/Corbis discussion and
furthermore, I noted its off list nature at the top.
As for "rights are not (or shouldn't be) an issue", they are the whole
issue, matey. That's what the thread was all about.
Various other people seem to have been contributing to the thread quite
happily and reading it, presumably with interest.
Photography for me is not about fiddling with equipment or enjoying the
silky smooth feel of my M2 shutter release (or was it the M3 that had a
particularly luxurious feel?), but about exploring and expressing my social
concerns and interests. You laud the "concerned photographer", but he'd
better be a capitalist if he wants to speak on this list?! Too bad...
Rob.
