This brings to mind a certain story by Polish author Stanislaw Lem, about a drug called "Altruizine". The motivation was to make everyone behave nicely toward one another by having everyone's painful and pleasant experiences be "broadcast" to one another's brains. Hilarity ensues: someone with a toothache is mobbed while others try to rip the tooth out, and so on. I get the feeling this thread could explode in a similar way on this list once the altruistic aspects of this contest get hashed out! :-) Seriously, I don't have a lot of experience being a sugar-daddy. My suggestion would be to treat this carefully, and sotto-voce. Find a teacher at a fine arts college who can suggest a student you might sponsor, or something like that. Regards, Byron.
