The >second camera is a pro-spec digital SLR jointly developed with the >electronics giant, Philips. >Details of both new models were fairly scant, but Pentax did reveal key >specifications. The 35mm SLR has similar dimensions to the >manufacturer's MZ-3 camera and may replace the Z1-P at a later date. The >digital SLR will feature a six million pixel resolution CCD >incorporating a **full frame** 35mm image sensor. (** mine) >The 35mm camera is expected next spring, with the digital model >following in the summer. Prices have yet to be decided, but a Pentax >spokesperson told BJP that the company is currently looking at a figure >of $7000 for the digital model. The point is that an (expensive) full frame 35 mm sensor is going to be available shortly. In a few years time it will be much cheaper and I hope Leica will be on the band wagon with sets for both M and R. Cheers Howard.
