You might get away with the Fuji, semi-transparent cannisters, but I've had them open up every Kodak or Ilford black cannister. My method is to put five rolls at a time (without cannisters) into one-pint ziplock freezer bags. Then I put these into one gallon ziplock freezer bags. Ex[posed film also goies into a one gallon bag. This leaves me with completely transparent bags that I always have out and ready for hand inspection. I also try to get to the checkpoint when there isn't much of a line, and I'm always as polite as can be.
