Hi George,

I totally agree with you.  I have been using my Leitz table 
tripod + ball head for more than 15 years.  On occasions 
I had to shed weight of my camera bag, more often I chose 
to leave behind a lens or 2 instead.

My 15+ yr. old Leitz ball head is a bit heavy, I 
wonder if the new ones are lighter?
