Hi Hugh,

Until I can afford to get a slide projector, is there an inexpensive way of
viewing slides. I have heard about a small, battery operated, personal
viewer - are there any preferences? Am I correct, with slides the meter
should be set to give a half stop under exposure, is this so?""

I guess you need a hand held light panel. Cabin makes some really nice
light panels. I got one (CL5000P), powered by 4 AAA batteries and is of the
size of about half a A4 paper. You may also find a lupe useful. Choices
are many. As to slides, I do not take it as an inflexible rule that
exposure must be half a stop under. Just take greater care in metering and
that's all.
