It's so good, I haven't taken it off since first screwing it on. With my one, Leica included a second little screw cover for the remote release plug, in case I lose the first cover (easy to do!). I thought that was a nice touch. I put it in safe place, but I can't remember where just now..... Even so, Lucien's suggestion is a good idea. May as well try your R8 out with a winder/motor if someone nearby has one. Only problem might be taking it off and giving it back! Regards Rick Dykstra
