We recently went to Vienna, Austria and tried using the trick
mentioned above when coming back to the States [going to Europe with
the film presented no problems at all].

No such luck; the security folks in Vienna carefully looked at *each*
roll in my clear plastic bag [every roll was loose and not in a film
box or canister container of any kind], removed all of the Delta 3200
rolls I had salted the bag with, and x-rayed the rest.

The remainder of the stock I had taken was 100 or slower and has not
showed any adverse effects when processed, but just know in advance
that your film *may* be zapped, even with the best preparation.
