I take my Leicas to Samys Camera in LA.  The repair department will 
take your camera and send it to Leica for you.  I find this the best 
way to send something to Leica in NJ.  Also because it is still under 
warranty you should have it cleaned and checked too.  I know that you 
have an M6 but I would make that suggestion to all R8 shooters 
because there have been upgrades in the electronics that your R8 may 
benefit from.
