What kind of film was it and who put it in the cassette?
Sounds like the film was attached to the spool incorrectly by the
manufacturer.
People who load their own sometimes have that problem and I've noticed that
Fuji is inconsistent in their spooling.
I'd guess it wasn't Kodak.
