Now an SP would get my blood a-boiling!  But an S3?

I can't figure out the Japanese Marketing.  They desire to make 1 product to
to sell in the thousands, and the flip side : making these specialty
cameras.

So what is the output rate of the cheapest Nikon P+S, say 10,000 per month?

My opinion of a new S3?  Stupid.

Quick, Marc, get those Zeiss and old Nikkor lenses ready for sale!
