Well, I can't post the pictures, but working as a director in TV with a
cameraman there have been a number of occasions where a filter in front of
the lens has degraded the image to the point where I've asked for it to be
taken off.

[Austin] And this was while using studio lighting I would suppose?  As 
said, there are cases where lighting forward of the camera will cause some 
phenomenon, but comparing a video studio situation to a photo situation 
(studio or not) is a completely different set of circumstances.  I have 
been shooting in the studio (and out) for 25 years, always using filters 
and have NEVER seen any image problems at all.  I do not shoot Leicas in 
the studio, I shoot with Hasselblads.  I can see where it would happen in a 
video studio though, if care were not taken in the lighting.
