Is there anything I should be aware of regarding theft prevention, or trying to fit in with the locals? The Austrians, like the Bavarians, dress conservatively. Liederhosen with a proper felt hat including a feather make good camouflage clothing. Drinking weiss-wine out of little glass coffee cups makes you practically invisible. Beer drinking is not that common. ....... I'll be dependant on public transportation. Since I am more interested in landscapes......... Seriously, there is an excellent trolley system that allows the use of day or weekly passes so you don;lt have to figure out the exact fare.... you just flash your day pass..... The wine growing area is adjacent to Vienna and there is a trolley that will take you there. This area specializes in lots of wine halls /restaurants to taste the dry white wines of the region. Take lots of film. Views from each and every location are superb. In March it might not be optimum for the vines, but the winter should add some interesting color. the Prater is a sight I missed, and I regret it...... visit at night. The Ringstrasse has an area that contains a small outdoor ( in March???) restaurant that plays Viennese waltzes on Sunday afternoon. Very romantic. Enjoy the beauty of one of Europe's most stunning and picturesque cities. Bring a 90 to shoot candids and portraits. Frank FIlippone
