Art,

It is a good lens according to Erwin's tests, but as you have suggested,
many people find the f4 maximum aperture too limiting for an M lens. In
addition, the focal length range 28-35-50mm is also a bit limiting.
Since many people already have good 35mm and 50mm lenses, the incentive
to buy a Tri-Elmar is somewhat limited.

Having said all this, I am sure it would make a fine travel lens.
