When I wrote the above quoted text I spoke only for myself.

I promise you, I have NO DOUBT that the 35 f2 ASPH would be my choice as 
my one M lens.
That's what the original poster asked for - informed, first-hand opinions.

As for the "more than a few of us" would you please show me the proxies 
that make you their spokesman? And who the hell are "a few of us" anyway? 
Whoever they are I'm perfectly happy for them to use any lens they wish! 
Y'all have fun!

Anyway - boring is as boring does. You're right - one size does not fit 
all.

Marc, do you know anything about focal plane shutter Hasselblads? Like 
the 2000s and the 200 series.
