Subject: Re: [Leica] M lenses on R using Visoflex adapter?

Let me expand a little bit on Marc's earlier reply.

The 14167 will allow the use of Visoflex lenses on the R body.
Leica literature sometimes does not always distinguish between
the M lenses and those designed for proerp use with the Viso,
although the physical bayonet mount is the same. Right now I've
got the 14167 semi-permanently attached to a 3rd version 280/4.8
which I use on and R4sp or an R8. Sometimes, to be outrageous,
I'll use the adapter with the 65 Elmar on the R8.

Of course. with such set ups, most of whatever automation the
body offers is lost. Stop-down metering is required, and I'm still
trying to work out some compensation factors.
