Subject: [Leica] Re: Sensuous R8

Well, since the English language is devoid of specific terms for relating
the holding of a camera, terms that folks can relate with are used, not as
literal statements, but as an indication of overwhelming acceptance. "Leica
engineering, job well done."

Had the R8 been clumsy, unreachable controls, square and garish, one might
say "using the R8 is like teaching a drunk how to fly."

Most people reading these kinds of descriptions would imagine a mental
picture that is meaningful with relation to the object being described. "Oh
yes, the R8 is very nice to hold and the controls are placed perfectly."
Rather than absolutely literally comparing a mechanical piece with a woman.

Fortunately, I think 100% of the folks who were in attendance at the
meeting and 99.999% those who have heard the statement comparing holding an
R8 with holding a woman, have the proper outlook to bring the whole concept
into perspective.
