I think this scenario is an object lesson to Leica Solms. ZI had a splendid
design in the Contax RF. Until the Nikon RF arrived, the Contax was Leica's
only real competitor. The M3 was the Contax design given to Leitz by default.
Nikon perfected the reflex originated by Exakta. Then it obligingly left the
RF field to Leitz, until this business arrived in the 90's with the ersatz
Contax with its AF lightweight lenses and intricate processor-linked
mechanics.
You want a real money camera, it's still the Leica M, keeping the golden
touch of the genuine Contax.
